• Volunteer your time - GMAD has two major fundraisers every year and numerous smaller, community events at which there is a need for volunteers. Help us with event preparation (for example, assembling gift bags or outreach packages, executing mass mailings) or onsite as a volunteer.
• Share a talent or resource - Do you have a talent to share? Are you a photographer? An entertainer? A trained mental health professional? A licensed yoga instructor? These are just a few of the many ways in which you can share your talents with our clients and members.
• Bequests - GMAD accepts charitable bequests made through wills and living trusts. Both general requests (designated monetary amounts) and specific requests (assets/ real property) are appreciated. Start planning your legacy today!
• Donate clothing - As mentioned above, many of our young adults are at a disadvantage and need your help! Please donate your lightly worn clothing, particularly that which is suitable for work or interviews.
• Mentor a young adult - Many of our young adults are in vulnerable positions as a result of homelessness and isolation from their families. They are also faced with difficult choices and challenging situations. You have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a young adult at risk by providing guidance, encouragement and exposure to cultural events.
• Be a senior buddy- Our seniors are facing a different challenge, which is that of aging and isolation. Oftentimes, they find it difficult to execute the small tasks that constitute daily living like getting food, light cleaning, picking up prescriptions or laundry or even just taking them for a walk and keeping them company.
• Matching gifts - Many companies have already established a matching gift program, which makes your donation twice as nice! Check with your company's human resource coordinator to find out if this benefit is available. If not, this is a great time to start something new!
